Mandya: Wax Drive In Mandya Remains Undisrupted Amid Hijab Row | Mysuru News – Times of India

MANDYA: The hijab row has not affected the vaccination drive for students in Mandyaaccording to health officers.
The officers claimed that the tense situation in educational institutions has not impacted the vaccine drive as they have administered the dose to half of the targeted student fraternity. “So far, our medical staff have faced no disturbance in administering the Covid vaccine due to the hijab row. We have covered 75% of students so far,” a senior health officer said.
According to officers, the coverage percentage could have been much more if state government had not shut institutions after the hijab row took an ugly turn.
Out of 77,458 eligible students in the district, a total of 58,063 students were vaccinated with first dose while 33,381 students were jabbed with second dose.
The officers said that the students left out of the vaccination drive would be vaccinated at the hospitals. “We did not receive any complaints or grievances from our medical staffs that hijab row is affecting them,” said an officer.
