Kanpur: Since Tuesday morning, such a video is going viral on social media, which will give you goosebumps. In the video, a man wearing a sleeveless undershirt can be seen clinging to the bonnet of a white speeding car for about 5 km on the Jajmau-Ramadevi flyover in Chakeri area of ​​the city.
The date and time of the incident is yet to be ascertained as no one has yet approached the police with a complaint.
Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the viral video, the police have started investigation and sought help from people in nabbing the culprits.
Local sources told TOI that the incident took place on Monday evening when a DCM truck collided with a white colored car on the Jajmau-Ramadevi flyover.
On seeing the car riders got into a dispute with the DCM truck driver and attendant.
The matter escalated so much that the car driver tried to hit the truck cleaner standing in front, but he somehow got on the bonnet and grabbed the wiper tightly. After this, the passengers accelerated the car on the flyover.
Police said that in preliminary investigation it has been found that dangerous movement was seen on Jajmau-Ramadevi flyover in Chakeri area. Locals further said that initially they thought the incident was the result of some stunt, but later when they questioned some other people of the area, they confirmed that the incident was a result of road-rage, in which After the collision, a scuffle broke out between a car rider and the driver and cleaner of the DCM truck.
While the man clinging to the bonnet of the car kept shouting and begging for his life, the car driver stopped the vehicle while driving at high speed for about five km.
Some passersby who witnessed the incident shot a video and later made it viral on social media. The video has caused huge outrage among netizens, who are demanding the police to take strict action against the car driver.
DCP East Anoop Singh has issued a statement asking people to come forward and help the police.
“The investigation is going on at our level, but we have also requested people to come forward and assist the investigators in identifying both the victim and the accused. We are also trying to trace the registration number plate of the four wheeler with the help of CCTV cameras. The identity of the person providing the information will be kept secret,” the DCP said.
