Madikeri: A Virajpeti Court has sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for rape Minor Girl.
37-year-old Bolaka, who worked in an estate at Kolthodu Begodu near Virajpet, had raped a labourer’s daughter. After dropping out of class 6, the girl was living in a line-house with her mother (single parent).
In 2018, Bolka entered the girl’s home during the day – when her mother was at work – and sexually abused her for several days. Seeing the change in her daughter’s appearance/behavior, the woman asked her if there was anything wrong. The girl narrated the ordeal, after which the woman complained to the Virajpet rural police.
Second Additional District and Session court (Virajpet) Judge SR Dindalkop gave the verdict after hearing the case. He has convicted Bolaka under various sections. Out of the fine of Rs 90,000, the victim will have to pay Rs 80,000.
