Man jailed for 3 years for attempting to murder wife in Goa Goa News – Times of India

Kolva: Principal Sessions Judge Irshad Agha sentenced a man to simple imprisonment for three years for voluntarily causing hurt to his wife in 2019.
The accused Wilken Tirkey had assaulted his wife Poonam Dungdung in April 2019 by hitting her on the head and face with laterite stones in an attempt to murder her. The attack took place in Kolmorod, Margao. The Margao police then charged the accused with attempt to murder.
Public Prosecutor JD Costa submitted that there was direct evidence linking the accused to the attack on his wife. After looking at the evidence, the judge convicted Tirkey and ordered him to undergo three years’ imprisonment.
