The HC had written to the tribunal that Ri had submitted documents including electoral rolls of 1966 and 1970, which contained his father’s name and later the electoral rolls of 1977 and 2005, where the petitioner’s name appeared. According to the judges, this was “substantial evidence”. The HC then directed the tribunal to hear the matter on December 3.
It clarified that if the petitioner fails to appear before the tribunal on December 3, the tribunal’s 2016 order will “be revived” and “law will take its own course”.
