Mamta Murder Case: BJD-BJP face to face, father of slain teacher said – don’t do politics over death

While the blame game is going on for the murder of female teacher Mamita Meher, her father appealed to everyone not to do politics over the death of his daughter. Mamita’s family members are satisfied with the investigation and have demanded strict action against all those involved in the crime.

Mamta’s father Suchandra Mehra said, ‘We are satisfied with the police investigation, so I appeal not to do politics over my daughter’s death. We want justice.”

By raising this issue, the opposition parties play a game of blame and counter-accusation. A team of state BJP leaders met the deceased family in Balangir and visited the crime scene in Kalahandi district. In Cuttack, where the Youth Congress agitated in front of the DGP’s office, in Bhubaneswar, the Students’ Congress agitated.

While talking to the media, BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra targeted the Odisha government alleging that Odisha State Home Minister Dibyshankar Mishra is directly involved in the matter. “Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should sack the state home minister from his ministry,” he said.

Patra said that on the instructions of BJP National President JP Nadda, BJP Rashtriya Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan, Sunita Duggal, Srirupa Mitra Choudhary would visit Odisha to take stock of the situation and submit a report.

Responding to the opposition’s allegation, BJD spokesperson Pramila Malik said that the state government is taking steps to provide justice to the family of the deceased as per law. Opposition parties are doing dirty politics and playing blame game for political gains. Both BJP and Congress have no issue to raise. They are doing this only for political gains.”
