Mamta again wrote a letter to PM Modi, warning of dire consequences for not increasing the supply of vaccine in Bengal

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in her recent letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has once again complained about the lack of a coronavirus vaccine in West Bengal. The TMC supremo said in his letter that if the supply of vaccine is not increased in West Bengal, then the situation of Kovid-19 epidemic can become serious.

Mamata Banerjee said that West Bengal needs about 14 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccines.

Banerjee had also raised the issue of shortage of Kovid-19 vaccine during a meeting with PM Modi in New Delhi a few days ago. The CM of Bengal gave this information after meeting the PM.

On Wednesday, 826 new Kovid cases were confirmed in Bengal, while 10 patients lost their lives. So far 15,30,850 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the state and 18,180 patients have died.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister today held a meeting of the Global Advisory Board in view of the threat of the third wave of Kovid-19. Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee was also present in the meeting. After the meeting, CM Mamata said that her government is contemplating reopening schools at an interval of one day each after the Durga Puja holidays later this year.

Banerjee further informed that states like Gujarat, UP, Karnataka have received enough COVID-19 vaccines. “I don’t discriminate between people. Bengal has got less vaccines according to the density of population. I request the Center and PM Modi not to discriminate between states,” she said.
