Mollywood superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal have been awarded the coveted Golden Visa. This is the first time that the UAE government has granted privileges to actors from the Malayalam film industry. For the unversed, the Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa that was introduced by the UAE government in 2019. The recipient is allowed to live and work in the nation for 10 years without the need for a national sponsor. After that, it will automatically renew. Bollywood the actors Shah Rukh Khan And Sanjay Dutt has been given this visa in the past. Mammootty and Mohanlal are expected to get visas in the coming days.
Both Mammootty and Mohanlal are considered to be the strongest pillars of the Malayalam film industry. He has also taken cinema forward with his individual talent and his combined efforts. Both the superstars have known each other for more than three decades.
Interestingly, they have worked in 51 films together. Padayottam, Antino Pukunna Pookkal, Paavam Poornima, Avidathepole Ivideyum, Angadikappurthu 1985 and Vartha are some of the best of them together.
Last year, Mohanlal penned a lovely note to mark the birthday of his friend, colleague and brother. On Mammootty’s birthday, the actor wrote on Instagram, “My dear iccha. Wishing you a very happy birthday and much more to come. Love you always. God bless.” Mohanlal is eight years younger than Mammootty. Ichkka roughly translates to elder brother.
Recently Mammootty completed 50 years in the film industry. Many fans, friends and colleagues took to social media to express their happiness and well wishes. Mohanlal also posted a heartwarming note on Instagram.
To celebrate the glorious occasion, Mohanlal wrote, “Today my brother completes 50 glorious years in the film industry. I feel extremely proud to be working with him in 55 memorable films and look forward to many more. Congratulations Ace!”
