Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee He is scheduled to meet his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik on 23 November.

Speculations are rife as to what issues will be discussed between the two leaders and they will try to woo non-BJP and non-Congress leaders ahead of the 2024 elections. Banerjee will reach Odisha on March 21 and visit the Puri Lord Jagannath Temple on March 22.

Before the 2024 elections, Mamta is trying to bring non-BJP and non-Congress parties together. Mamta met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav On the sidelines of the three-day National Executive meeting in Kolkata. After this TMC chief will meet BJD supremo. Mamta’s stand against the Center and the meeting with Naveen is significant and there is a possibility of an alternative political alliance with Naveen. In the current political situation, it is being said that Mamata may discuss the issue of uniting all regional parties and misuse of central investigative agencies.

Political expert K Rabi said, ‘Whether there will be a new political equation, it is likely to be discussed. However, before this, Naveen has talked about equal distance from Congress and BJP. Mama can talk to Naveen on political stand. ,

Be it UPA or NDA government, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has maintained parity with both the parties. Before the 2024 elections, it is a matter of discussion whether Naveen will follow this policy or join the opposition. The BJP has adopted a more aggressive stand in the state than before. State BJP leaders are targeting the state government on various issues. On the other hand, the ruling BJD also raised its voice against the BJP. Naveen also told about the negligence of the Centre. So in such a situation Naveen-Mamta’s meeting is pointing towards many aspects. The Congress has said that the BJD is always with the BJP. Naveen-Mamta’s conversation will not remain inconclusive at all. The BJD said that the party has given issue-based support to the BJP-led government at the Centre, but has maintained an equal distance from the BJP-Congress. On the other hand, the BJP said that the opposition will not succeed with this.

Revenue Minister Pramila Mallick said that “the ruling BJD has maintained equity distance and given issue-based support. There is no problem in discussing with those whose policies are favorable to BJD. The Chief Minister will take a decision”.

Naveen is always with BJP. Mamta’s meeting with Naveen will not be fruitful. Mamta-Naveen’s meeting will be limited to formality only. Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said

BJP MLA Suryavanshi Suraj said that “people are supporting the BJP. The alliance will have no effect on Modi’s popularity.”

Earlier, to bring together non-Congress-non-BJP leaders before the elections, BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s efforts, Mamta’s efforts to bring non-BJP leaders together are being discussed.
