It is always an emotional moment for a person to speak about their departed family members. Many people can’t muster up the courage to recall their memories because it makes them emotional, and if someone does, it’s a heavy moment. Well that being said, comedian Mallika Dua has recently been winning the hearts of netizens with her video in which she shared the love story of her late parents, Vinod Dua and Dr Padmavati Dua. Actress Anushka Sharma shared the same video on her Instagram story and wrote, ‘Yes he is inside you, it is ‘beautiful’.
Taking to Instagram, Mallika is heard saying, “Papa ji, twice BA fail, fearless Doordarshan anchor from Delhi’s refugee colonies and Mummy Auntie, a painstakingly simple, meticulous, Tamilian doctor from Lady Irwin College, who Never had a male friend. Both of them met and got married within 15 days, of course they ran away but not from Papa ji’s side because they are not afraid of anyone’s father, are they?
The comedian continued to narrate the beautiful love story of his parents, saying, “They got married and lived happily together with a brief gap of six months between their respective journeys to heaven. That in June and that in December. Makes sense, because they were as different as summer and winter. One was unable to exist without the other”.
For Unversed, the short clip was initially shared by Unearsed Kavita. Soon after the video went online, Mallika’s fans and even Bollywood actresses reacted to the post. Dia Mirza dropped heart emoticons in the comment section, while Gauahar Khan wrote, “Hey”.
Speaking about the reactions of the fans, one of the social media users left a comment saying, “Thank you for filling my heart with warmth.” Another commented, “My heart out next time you read I will cook sambar for you. A book from Papaji’s library.”
For the uninitiated, both Vinod and Padmavati Dua were diagnosed with COVID 19 last year. Mallika’s mother breathed her last on June 11. Mallika’s father Vinod Dua passed away on 4 December 2021.
