During an interaction with Pinkvilla, Malaika slammed the trolls and asked if Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce had worn the same outfit, would they have reacted the same way. She called these trolls hypocrites and confronted them for their double standards.
“All I could hear was that it sounded fantastic. I think people are so hypocrites, they’re hypocrites if you ask me. Same thing you’d see on Rihanna, you’d see on JLo (Jennifer Lopez) or Beyonce And you’ll be like, ‘Whoa!’ And I love them! I think they’re the women who inspire me every single day. The same thing you do here, immediately they’re like ‘What’s she doing? She’s a mom, she’s this , that’s it!’ Why be a hypocrite? I mean if you can appreciate the same on someone else why can’t you appreciate it, make it a universal point of view, you know? I mean why these double standards? ” he said.
When asked if trolling bothers her, Malaika agreed and said that it bothers her. “Yeah absolutely. I mean anyone who says it’s probably not kidding or trying to use a really great cover-up. Initially yes, because I think it’s a good thing for everyone. For, was new to someone and to everyone, and we were all like ‘What the hell? I mean it would bother me and then when time went by, I kind of took it apart,'” he shared.
