Majithia reaches SC to get drugs case canceled: Akali leader lodged in Patiala jail filed petition; not getting bail

Veteran Akali leader Bikram Majithia, who is trapped in the drugs case, has reached the Supreme Court. He has filed a petition in the SC seeking quashing of the case registered against him. At present, Majithia is lodged in the Central Jail of Patiala. A case was registered against Majithia for having links with international drug smugglers during the previous Congress government. For which the then Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu put full pressure. At the same time, Charanjit Channi, who was the CM at that time and Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa, looking after the Home Department, patted their back a lot regarding the case.

Majithia is not getting bail
When a case was registered against Bikram Majithia, he first sought anticipatory bail. After the Mohali court, it was rejected by the High Court and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court certainly gave him relief till he contested the elections. After this Majithia surrendered in Mohali court on 24 February. From where he was sent to jail. After this he sought regular bail but could not get bail due to the sections involved in the case.

Mann Sarkar changed SIT
After coming to power in Punjab, the AAP government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has changed the special investigation team of this case. The new team is working under the supervision of IG Gursharan Singh Sandhu. The head of this SIT is IPS officer S. Rahul has been created. The team consists of AIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DSP Raghuveer Singh and DSP Amarpreet Singh. The previous SIT was formed under the leadership of AIG Balraj Singh. On whom the Akali Dal had made serious allegations against Majithia of getting promotion to the son in exchange for the case.
