Mahi Water Supply Pipeline Puncture During Cable Laying | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: A major leak occurred late Tuesday night in the main pipeline bringing water to the city from French wells in the Mahi river near Fazalpur. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) repaired the leak in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to sources, cable laying work was going on by a private telecom company near Nandesari village on the outskirts of the city, due to which the pipeline broke down.
After being informed about the leak, VMC officials reached the spot around midnight and started the work of plugging the leak on the 1,354 mm diameter pipeline. The work could be completed by around 6 am on Wednesday.
Sources said the civic body will issue a notice to the telecom company asking it to pay for the damage to the pipeline as well as wastage of potable water.
