Devil- The Hero would not be Mahesh Manjrekar’s first Kannada appearance as he was seen in the 2005 film, Encounter Dayanayak.

Darshan Thoogudeepa’s latest work Devil- The Hero has yet again taken headlines. The film, written and directed by Prakash Veer, kicked off its shooting on March 22. The crew earlier mentioned that the shooting of the film was stopped as Darshan underwent surgery and will resume soon after he recovers. Now, a new development has been reported but the official announcement is yet to be made by the makers.

The news of Mahesh Manjrekar’s comeback in the Kannada film industry with Devil is creating a buzz in social media. Though he was previously seen acting in Kannada movies, he hasn’t taken up any Kannada projects recently.

As the excitement is brewing among the fans the cast of the film is yet to be finalised, according to a report by Cinema Express. Mahesh Manjrekar is known for his versatile acting. The actor earlier worked in various Indian languages including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Bhojpuri.

Devil- The Hero would not be the actor’s first Kannada appearance as he was seen playing the role of Yousuf Khaleel in the 2005 film, Encounter Dayanayak. One of his most remarkable works is the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire in which he played the role of Don Javed.

Talking about his career, Mahesh Manjrekar has worked on 75 films and wrote and directed around 25 films in just a career span of 20 years. Though there have been many speculations about Mahesh’s role in the film Devil, it is yet to be announced officially.

The first look teaser of the film Devil was released earlier this year and has already created excitement among the fans. The move is set to release this year though the exact date is not yet known. The film is produced by J Jayanna and Prakash Veer under the Vaishno Studios banner.

Darshan Thoogudeepa’s role in the movie is set to have power-packed action. The filming of Devil- The Hero is presently halted as the actor suffered an injury in his arm during the shoot. He underwent surgery and is in complete bed rest presently. Fans will expect the shooting of the film to resume soon as the excitement of the film grows.
