“The villagers held a meeting on Friday night and planned against us. A group marched to our house on Saturday morning, asking us to reach the main square of the village, as we were named after spirit-obsessed people for practicing magic. We agreed to leave as we were innocent,” said Prayagbai Hooke, the victim.
She said four women allegedly possessed by spirits were making a scene in the square, grumbling and talking nonsense. They hit some of the victims with sticks and threw mud at them.
