Maharashtra reports 4,219 Covid-19 cases, 55 deaths Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: Maharashtra The state health department said on Thursday there were 4,219 new coronavirus infections and 55 deaths.
He said that this took the number of infections in the state to 64,87,025 and the death toll to 1,38,017.
After removing the repeats, the total number of cases came down by 15,066, while the number of discharged persons also came down by 15,793, an official release said.
With 2,538 patients being discharged from hospitals during the day, the total number of recoveries rose to 62,95,236.
There are 2,92,510 people in home quarantine, 1,911 in institutional quarantine and 50,229 active patients.
Maharashtra’s case recovery rate is 97.04 percent while the death rate is 2.12 percent.
The number of coronavirus tests conducted in the state rose to 5,55,19,679 with 1,80,907 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Ahmednagar district reported the highest number of 798 new infections during the day, followed by Pune district with 541 new infections.
Satara reported the highest death toll of 15 people in the districts.
Of Maharashtra’s eight regions, the Pune region recorded the highest number of new cases at 1,621, followed by the Mumbai region with 995 cases.
Nashik 945 new cases were reported in this region, Kolhapur 520, Latur 122, Aurangabad 30, Akola 14 and Nagpur region 12 new cases.
The maximum number of 26 deaths occurred in Pune region, followed by Kolhapur region with 13 deaths.
Among other areas, six deaths were reported in Mumbai, four in Nashik, five in Latur and one in Akola region. No deaths have been reported in Nagpur and Aurangabad regions.
Mumbai City As per the state government data, 457 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths were reported, while Pune city reported 233 new cases but no deaths.
