Maharashtra Covid-19 updates: The state on Monday reported 2,369 new infections of the coronavirus and five deaths, according to data provided by the state health department. In the last 24 hours, 1,402 were recovered from Kovid-19.

Mumbai’s Covid Tally

Mumbai reported 1,062 COVID-19 cases and five fatalities, taking the toll to 11,08,433 and 19,604, a civic official said.

He informed that the metropolis had also reported five deaths on Sunday, taking the death toll to 38 so far in June, a manifold increase from three in May and four in April.

A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official said the five deaths included four women above the age of 66 years and a 78-year-old man, all of whom were suffering from other ailments, including heart disease.

He said out of 1,062 new cases, only 68 were hospitalised, of which only seven required oxygen.

According to BMC data, the number of people on oxygen support stood at 84, while only 668 of the 24,768 hospital beds earmarked for COVID-19 treatment are occupied.

It showed that the number of recoveries rose by 1,305 to 10,76,350 in the last 24 hours, leaving the metropolis with 12,479 active cases.

According to civic data, the recovery rate was 97 per cent, the growth rate in cases between June 20 and 26 was 0.151 per cent, while the caseload doubling time was 433 days.

With 8,854 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the total number of tests in Mumbai rose to 1,74,88,585.

Apart from the tally has been in four digits since June 7 though there is no sealed building and containment zones in the city, data from BMC showed.
