Maharashtra reports 2,149 Covid-19 cases, 29 deaths Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: After a spurt in new cases in the last four days, Maharashtra Slightly fewer coronavirus infections were reported on Friday at 2,149.
A health official said 29 Covid-19 patients died during the day in the state, while 1,898 patients were discharged from hospitals.
He said the state’s caseload rose to 65,88,429 and the death toll rose to 1,39,734.
1,898 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of cured cases to 64,15,316.
Maharashtra now has 29,782 active coronavirus cases.
2,27,467 people are in home quarantine and another 1,002 are in institutional quarantine.
The state’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.37 per cent, while the death rate stands at 2.12 per cent.
The cumulative number of coronavirus tests conducted in the state rose to 6,08,09,054 after 2,62,482 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the districts, Mumbai reported the highest number of 480 new infections and five deaths, taking the state capital’s caseload to 7,50,974 and the death toll to 16,177.
Of Maharashtra’s eight administrative regions, Mumbai region recorded the maximum number of 862 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, followed by Pune region with 550 cases.
NS Nashik 484 new cases were reported in the region, 149 in Kolhapur, 56 in Latur, 34 in Aurangabad, nine in Akola and five in Nagpur region.
Nashik region reported the maximum 10 deaths, followed by Pune region with seven deaths.
There have been six deaths in Mumbai region, four in Kolhapur and one each in Akola and Latur region. No new deaths were reported in Aurangabad and Nagpur regions.
Pune city reported 94 new infections but no deaths.
