Maharashtra: Mumbai Police has busted a center issuing fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. They also arrested a 42-year-old man who was involved in making fake cards. The person has been identified as Arugeshkumar Mishra who allegedly made these cards.

During the raid, the police seized a printer and computer along with fake documents which included 30 Aadhaar and 6 PAN cards. Police said the fake cards were issued mainly with Hindu names while the documents had Muslim names.

The police further said that the gang used to charge Rs 1100 for an Aadhaar card while the cost of a PAN card was Rs 500. Narrating the incident, the police said that the team had received information that such a center was being run in Goregaon. A team was formed under the guidance of DCP Ajay Kumar Bansal and under the supervision of Senior Inspector Dattatri Thopte and PSI Ram Vaishnav along with his team raided the center on Sunday.

Police suspect that Mishra used to provide fake Aadhaar cards to illegal Bangladeshi nationals, who used to cross the border pretending to be Hindus.

Mumbai Police said that further investigation is on.
