Osmanabad: Four members of a family were killed in a car collision with a tractor-laden container truck. Maharashtra‘s Osmanabad On Friday, the district police said.
Rural police station inspector Suresh Sable said the accident took place in the early hours near Bhadachiwadi village on Osmanabad-Dhoki-Latur road.
The victim Umesh Murlidhar Pade (50), his wife Savita (45), son Prateek (24) and mother Hiraknabai (70) are residents of Latur, he said.
He said the family had come to Osmanabad for a function and was returning to Latur at the time of the incident.
The car was badly damaged and it had to be pulled out of the container truck with the help of a crane, the official said.
He said that the driver of the container truck carrying the tractor fled the spot after the collision.
