Maharashtra Economy To Grow 6.8% in 2022-23: State’s Economic Survey

Maharashtra’s agriculture and allied activities sector is expected to grow by 10.2 per cent, industry sector by 6.1 per cent and services sector by 6.4 per cent in FY23

The Maharashtra Economic Survey, presented on Wednesday, has estimated the state’s economic growth to be 6.8 percent for the current financial year 2022-23. It said that in 2022-23, the state’s agriculture and allied activities sector is expected to grow by 10.2 per cent, industry sector by 6.1 per cent and services sector by 6.4 per cent.

According to advance estimates, the growth rate of the Indian economy is expected to be 7 percent in the current financial year.

According to the Economic Survey 2022-23, released on the eve of the state budget to be presented on Thursday, Maharashtra has the highest average share of 14.0 per cent in all-India nominal GDP, and according to advance estimates, per capita for 2022-2023 The income of the state will increase from Rs 2,15,233 (2021-2022) to Rs 2,42,247.

As per advance estimates, the State GDP in nominal (at current prices) is expected to be Rs 35,27,084 crore and real SGDP (at constant 2011-2012 prices) is expected to be Rs 21,65,558 crore.

The Economic Survey states that the state has the highest average share of 14.0 per cent in all-India nominal GDP, and according to advance estimates, the state’s per capita income for 2022-2023 will be Rs 2,42,247, an increase of over Rs 2 . 15,233 (2021–2022).
