Maharashtra crisis: Supreme Court refuses to stay floor test

In a major setback to Uddhav Thackeray, the Supreme Court on Thursday refused to stay the Maharashtra Governor’s direction to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to hold a floor test in the assembly.

A vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala said the proceedings in the Assembly on Thursday would be subject to the final outcome of the Shiv Sena’s petition against the governor’s decision.
