Maharashtra Corona Cases: Maharashtra reports 8,418 new Covid-19 cases, 171 deaths. Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: Maharashtra On Tuesday, 8,418 new coronavirus positive cases were reported and 171 people died, while 10,548 patients were discharged, the state health department said.
A day earlier, the state collected 6,740 . was informed of COVID-19 Cases and 51 deaths, the lowest since March 15 this year.
With the new additions, Maharashtra’s caseload climbed to 61,13,335 and the death toll climbed to 1,23,531. The number of people who have recovered so far is 58,72,268, with 1,14,297 active cases in the state, the department said.
Maharashtra’s case recovery rate is now 96.06 per cent and the Covid-19 mortality rate is 2.01 per cent, adding that the case positivity rate is 14.25 per cent.
The department said that 455 fresh Covid-19 cases and ten fatalities were reported in Mumbai, taking the toll to 7,25,616 and 15,564.
Pune city’s municipal limits reported 297 new cases and two deaths, raising the tally to 4,96,510 and the death toll to 8,355.
Nagpur, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nashik, Aurangabad and Amravati Municipal Corporation areas recorded 11, 228, 46, 12 and eight new Covid-19 cases respectively.
According to the department, the Mumbai circle which includes greater Mumbai has 1,564 new cases and 36 deaths, taking the tally to 16,05,885 and the toll to 32,423.
In Pune circle, 2,362 new cases were reported with 32 deaths, taking the total caseload to 14,36,494 and fatalities to 26,365.
With 602 new cases and 14 deaths, the number of infections in Nashik circle rose to 8,94,003 and the death toll to 17,556.
The Kolhapur circle reported 3,426 new cases and 64 deaths, taking the tally of infections to 4,34,119 and the toll to 11,940, the department said.
Nagpur circle saw 51 new cases and two deaths, taking the tally to 7,69,381 and the death toll to 13,583. The Aurangabad circle recorded 120 new cases and 18 deaths, taking the overall tally to 2,82,006 and the toll to 6,434.
Latur circle’s tally rose to 3,36,508 with 219 new cases, while the death toll rose to 9,166 with five more patients succumbing to the infection.
74 new cases were reported in Akola circle, taking the number of infected to 3,54,793. An official said the death toll remained unchanged at 5,946 and there were no fresh deaths.
Not a single case has been reported in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district in the last 24 hours.
According to the health department, out of the total 1,14,297 active cases in Maharashtra, Thane district has the highest number of 16,670, followed by Pune and Mumbai with 16,524 and 12,240 respectively.
With 1,95,828 new tests, the number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra has increased to 4,29,08,288, the department said.
At present, 6,38,832 people are under in-home quarantine and 4,447 in institutional quarantine across Maharashtra.
