Maharashtra: CM Uddhav Thackeray met the Kovid Task Force, and suggested restrictions – Henry Club

amid rising cases COVID-19 In the state, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with the Covid Task Force on Thursday to take preventive measures to contain the spread.

With Christmas and New Year celebrations looming, Thackeray suggested implementing strict guidelines. There will also be a ban on gatherings in hotels and restaurants along with weddings and gatherings.

A member of the Kovid Task Force said that there was no discussion on lockdown or closure of schools in the meeting. “If the cases continue to rise, some restrictions on travel and timing may be imposed,” the official said.

For two consecutive days, the state recorded over 1,000 Covid-19 cases.

The state government had earlier issued guidelines banning large Christmas celebrations earlier in the day. The guidelines mandate simple Christmas celebrations while following the COVID-19 protocols and urge citizens to avoid overcrowding inside and outside religious places. The guidelines specify that churches can allow devotees only up to 50 per cent of their capacity with mandatory sanitation facilities in the midnight of December 24-25. It has been said in the guidelines that face masks will have to be provided and physical distancing will have to be followed. He made off with a low choir and different mics.
