Chandigarh/Karnal: Security has been increased in Haryana, especially in Karnal, in view of the call of farmers’ organizations and farmers’ organizations. Mahapanchayat, scheduled for tuesday, to surround Karnal Mini Secretariat.
Haryana government has suspended mobile internet services in Karnal district from 12.30 pm on Monday to 11.59 pm on Tuesday (September 7) to maintain law and order. Internet and SMS services are also to be suspended in four other districts of Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind and Panipat.
40 companies of additional forces including 10 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed at various places in Karnal district.
An official spokesperson said this was done due to fears of possible misuse of internet services to spread inflammatory content and false rumours.
Karnal agitation: ADGP warns of strict action
ADGP (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk said on Monday that the primary purpose of these arrangements was to maintain public peace and order, prevent any kind of violence, facilitate traffic and public transport system and protect public property. The state in general and Karnal in particular.

The farmers have already announced that they will continue their protest as talks with the district administration have failed once again.
Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav “A meeting was held with farmer leaders, but their demands were not justified. The administration will not allow them (farmers) to block the mini secretariat and NH-44. We will deal sternly with anyone who tries to take the law into their own hands.
Yadav said that traffic advisory has already been issued for passengers traveling on NH-44 and Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the district on September 7.
Bhartiya Kisan Union (Charuni) chief Gurnam Singh Charuni said, “A meeting was held with the district administration, but Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav could not give any satisfactory answer to our demands. Therefore, we will continue our protest and conduct a mahapanchayat as per the schedule in the grain market. After that we will gherao the mini secretariat and break all the police barricades.
In a video message, Charuni asked the farmers to come to Karnal Anaj Mandi at 10 am and if that is not possible, to protest wherever they were stopped. “The government can stop us, but we will reach the mini secretariat by breaking all the barricades on the way. But we will not indulge in any kind of violence. There were reports that farmers from Haryana, Punjab and UP are likely to meet on Tuesday and later gherao the mini secretariat of Karnal.
