Mahan Dal chief Keshav Dev Maurya broke the alliance with SP, said- Akhilesh doesn’t need me anymore

Keshav Dev Maurya-led Mahan Dal ended its alliance with Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party on Wednesday, with Maurya alleging that he was being ignored by Yadav.

The development happened after the SP announced the list of its MLC candidates. The two parties had formed an alliance for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, but the Mahan Dal failed to win a single seat.

“Yadav is now surrounded by those who butter him, he doesn’t need me anymore and he doesn’t need any grassroot level worker. Those who are pressurizing him are being sent to either the Rajya Sabha or the Legislative Council. Talking to News18, Maurya alleged that I have been ignored and Yadav does not even talk to me.

He also alleged that people engaged in the security of the SP chief are taking money so that people can meet him.

Further attacking the SP, Maurya said, ‘In the assembly elections, we were given only two seats, that too on the SP’s symbol. I had told Yadav that I should be allowed to contest from Etah or Farrukhabad in the Lok Sabha elections, but this is not happening. I am being ignored by SP.

The great party chief also attacked Swami Prasad Maurya. He said, “Swami Prasad Maurya was first in Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), then in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and now in SP. What would you call a party that keeps changing? But Akhilesh is kind to her. Swami Prasad Maurya is Akhilesh Yadav’s puppet, he does what Akhilesh says.

On the other hand, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar was also reportedly unhappy with his son Arvind Rajbhar’s name missing from the SP MLC candidate list.

Arvind, however, said that he is not unhappy with the SP and that he is working towards further strengthening the alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
