The word Panchamrit is a combination of five (5) and amrit (nectar of the gods). It is believed that this drink originated from the churning of the ocean. How to make Panchamrit?

Curd, milk, sugar, honey and ghee are used to make Panchamrit. It is called the drink of the gods. You will need 5 tbsp curd, 1 cup milk, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp ghee and 1 tbsp powdered sugar. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and garnish the prasad with basil leaves. Milk in Panchamrit increases purity and honey increases sweetness. Ghee is for victory and sugar for happiness, while curd is for prosperity and good fortune.
