Maharashtra crisisShiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday termed as “illegal” Maharashtra Governor’s order for the floor test of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, saying the Supreme Court is yet to decide on the disqualification of 16 rebel MLAs. He said the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), a coalition of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress, will approach the Supreme Court on the issue and demand justice.

Raut reminded the Governor that the file regarding nomination of 12 MLCs from their quota in the Upper House of the State Legislature was pending with him for a long time. “This (floor test order) is an illegal activity as the disqualification petition of 16 MLAs is pending before the Supreme Court. If such illegal activities happen, and if the Governor and the BJP trample the Constitution, then the Supreme Court has to intervene. “We will go to the Supreme Court and demand justice,” Raut told reporters.
