Madhya Pradesh government cancels summer vacation for teachers for Panchayat elections

The holidays began on May 1 and continued till June 9, but were canceled on May 27 following an executive order. This decision comes in the backdrop of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Government school teachers in the state are deputed during elections, and the cancellation of summer vacation is aimed at speeding up election preparations. The Madhya Pradesh Election Commission had approached the School Education Department to cancel the summer vacation for teachers so that training could start without delay.

The summer vacation for the students will continue as per the schedule. Academic session in MP schools will resume from June 15.

The elections are to be held in three phases from next month. Nomination for Panchayat elections in MP will start from May 30. The first phase of polling will be held on June 25, the second and third phases will be held on July 1 and 8. Counting of votes will be done. On July 8, 11, 14 and 15 for various posts ranging from Panch to Zilla Panchayat members.

meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE)) is ready to conduct Supplementary exam for those students who could not clear class 10 and class 12 exam. While class 12 exams will begin from June 20, class 10 supplementary papers are scheduled to begin from 21. The examinations will be conducted in a single shift from 9 am to 12 noon.

MPBSE announced its board exam results for class 10 and 12 on April 29. Of the nearly 9 lakh students who appeared in the board’s class 12 exams, 72.72 per cent were declared passed. The pass percentage in class 10 was very low at 59.54 per cent. Candidates need to obtain minimum 33 percent marks in every subject to clear the Madhya Pradesh Board exam.
