The last time a partial lunar eclipse of this length occurred on February 18, 1440, and the next time a similar event could be observed on February 8, 2669. The last lunar eclipse was on July 27, 2018.
Where will it appear?
The penumbral eclipse will be visible from some areas of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. It will also be visible from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha but from these places it can be seen only for a short time.
The partial lunar eclipse will be visible from North America, South America, East Asia, Australia and the Pacific.
The Moon is likely to appear a blood-red hue, which occurs when red rays of sunlight pass through Earth’s atmosphere and fall on the Moon by being least deflected.
