Lucknow, Prayagraj And Other Districts Change School Timings Amid Heatwave Conditions

New Delhi: Heat wave has badly affected the everyday life of common people. As the country is reeling under the scorching heat, several districts in the country have ordered change in timings of educational institutions to bring relief to the students.

While Tripura, Odisha and West Bengal have brought forward summer vacations for state schools, Patna, Prayagraj and Lucknow have changed the timings of educational institutions.

In Patna, the district administration ordered work by 12:45 pm for all classes, including pre-schools and anganwadi centres, from April 19 until further notice.

In view of heat wave conditions, Lucknow has changed the timings for classes 1 to 8 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm and for classes 9 to 12 from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm . Meanwhile, Prayagraj changed the timings of schools from class 1 to 8 and now the schools will open from 7 am to 12 noon.

Earlier, West Bengal had closed schools in view of the severe heat wave conditions in the state. The West Bengal government has already announced summer vacations and educational institutions are going to celebrate summer vacations from May 2 instead of May 24.


Meanwhile, schools in Tripura are also closed till April 23 in view of the heat wave conditions and in the state of Odisha, the government has ordered closure of all schools and anganwadi centers on April 19 and 20.
