Lucknow: DGP conference from today, Home Minister will inaugurate, PM Modi will also attend

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the 56th DGP conference starting Friday in the capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate in this three-day long conference. PM Modi will reach Lucknow on November 19 in the evening. He will attend the DGP conference on November 20 and 21. This conference is being organized on a hybrid format. Under this, people invited to the program of Lucknow will be present, the remaining 37 places will be connected virtually.

According to official sources, DGPs of states and union territories, heads of central armed police forces and central police organizations will be present in Lucknow, while the rest of the concerned people will participate virtually from 37 different places through IB and SIB headquarters. Various issues including cyber crime, data governance, counter-terrorism challenges, left-wing extremism, emerging trends in narcotics trafficking and prison reforms will be discussed in the conference.

DGP being Prime Minister continuously for seven years attends the conference
PM Modi is not only attending the DGP conference continuously since 2014 but also takes keen interest. Earlier, where the Prime Minister had a symbolic presence, now he participates in all the sessions of the conference.

Earlier this conference was held in Delhi itself but since 2014 it is being organized in different states of the country. This conference was held virtually in 2020 due to Corona. DGP conferences have been held in Guwahati in 2014, Kutch in 2015, National Police Academy Hyderabad in 2016, BSF Academy Tekanpur in 2017, Kevadia in 2018 and Pune in 2019. This time its stop is Lucknow.
