Lucknow: Three masked robbers stormed into the house of one Businessman 50 lakhs looted in madiyaan and at gunpoint. To gain entry into the house, the robbers posed as LMC officers. This is also the second such incident in two weeks.
the victim, Rishi Gupta Shyam Vihar Colony’s quarry area, was in his house with his wife Shalini, his 16-year-old brother-in-law Taran and two domestic helpers Golu and Rinki. Rishi is a disposable cutlery dealer and has a shop in Dandiya Market.
At around 10:30, three people knocked on Gupta’s door. Family, Shalini went to check at the door and the robbers posing as LMC officers said they needed to check the paperwork. As soon as they entered, they caught Rishi and Shalini at gunpoint.
Two of the robbers had a pistol, while the third had a sharp weapon. They took the family and their housekeeper to the bedroom and snatched their mobile phones. One of them kept an eye on them with a gun in hand, while the other two began to check the drawers and cupboards. Taking out all the cash and jewellery, locked the family in the house and fled. After this, the Gupta family shouted for help and their neighbors came to open the door. By then all three had fled from the spot. After this the sage informed the incident to U.
DCP North Zone, Sivasimpi Channappa said that prima facie it seemed that someone close was responsible. Teams have been formed to resolve the matter, the official said.
An FSL team reached the spot and collected fingerprints from several items inside the house and took footprints from the spot.
ADCP North Zone, Prachi Singh He said that the police is looking from all possible angles to find out which routes the robbers took and from where they entered the area. If they did recce, CCTV scans were being done to nab them.
A neighbor Akash Gupta expressed grief over the incident and said that if it could happen in broad daylight, then how safe they were during the night. Besides, the police were not patrolling the area, he said.
