LPG cylinder price cut today: 19 kg commercial cylinder becomes cheaper; Know Rates

State-owned retailers said in a notification that prices of 19 kg LPG cylinders in Delhi have been cut by Rs 198 with effect from Friday, July 1.

The price of LPG cylinder in Kolkata has come down by Rs 182. On the other hand, there has been a fall of Rs 190.50 in Mumbai and Rs 187 in Chennai. Petroleum company Indian Oil has also cut the price of commercial cylinders. Consumers of domestic LPG cylinders have not got any relief. Domestic cylinder of 14.2 kg has not become cheap. It is still available at the same rate as on 19th May.

This comes after the prices of commercial cylinders were cut last month. Earlier, the price was cut by Rs 135 from June 1, however, as mentioned earlier, the price of a 14.2 kg home cooking cylinder remains unchanged. On the other hand, consumers of domestic LPG cylinders were affected twice in May. The price of domestic cylinders was increased by Rs 50 per liter for the first time on 7 May. On May 19, the price of domestic LPG cylinder was increased.

Last month, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi was increased to Rs 1,003 – the second consecutive increase in a month. Rising crude oil rates globally had prompted state-owned fuel retailers to increase the prices of LPG. LPG prices had increased by Rs 53.50 per cylinder in the last one month, which then went up to over Rs 1,000 in most cities across the country.

Meanwhile, fuel prices India Stable for more than a month. There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel on July 1, which has brought relief to the people. Even minor fluctuations in fuel prices can have a huge impact on the day to day life of the people as well as the society as a whole. Petrol and diesel prices fell by a huge margin after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced reduction in excise duty on fuel on May 21. While the price of petrol was reduced by Rs 8 per liter, the price of diesel was reduced by Rs 6 per litre.

On June 30, petrol is being sold in Delhi at Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.62 per liter. At the same time, Mumbai is providing petrol at Rs 111.35 per liter. Diesel price in the city is currently Rs 97.28 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 106.03 per liter and diesel costs Rs 92.76 per liter, while in Chennai people have to pay Rs 102.63 for a liter of petrol and Rs 94.24 per liter for diesel.
