The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for cyclonic storm in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. According to the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday, a low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, due to which the storm may intensify in the next 12 hours. The wind speed has increased in the coastal areas. This cyclone has been named Gulab.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that due to the storm, there may be heavy rain in many areas of West Bengal. Kolkata Police has opened a control room named Unified Command Center. All police stations and divisions in the area have been asked to be on high alert. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa during the next 5 days.
