According to a bulletin of the state health department, the total number of corona cases in the state stood at 15,26,620 as of 9 am on Sunday. In the last 24 hours, 601 new cases have been reported. On Saturday the number was 69. At the same time, the number of sample tests has increased on Sunday as compared to Saturday. North 24 Parganas (93) topped in terms of daily attacks. Then there are 84 in Darjeeling, 60 in Kolkata, 49 in Nadia, 46 in South 24 Parganas, 43 in Hooghly and 42 in East Midnapore. The daily casualties are less than ten in Dakshin Dinajpur (three), Malda (six), Murshidabad (four) and Birbhum (five) and Purulia (seven).
However, the death toll has increased from Saturday to Sunday. On Sunday, 13 people died of corona in the state. North 24 Parganas and Nadia have the highest number of three corona deaths. Two died in East Midnapore and Howrah. One person died in East Burdwan, West Midnapore and Kolkata. There is no report of any casualty in the rest of the district. The total death toll in the state stood at 16,149 (1.19 per cent).
Meanwhile, the number of healthy patients on Sunday has increased slightly compared to Saturday. 626 people were cured on Sunday. On Saturday this number was 619. A total of 14,99,596 people have been released from the state. Which is 97.09 in percentage terms. The number of active patients has decreased due to the increase in the number of healthy patients as compared to the infected daily. At present 10,984 people have corona in the state. It has come down to 139 since Saturday.
