Responding to media queries on BJP’s criticism, Navjot Singh Sidhu said, ‘Let the BJP say whatever it wants…’

Earlier, BJP’s National Information and Technology Department in-charge Amit Malviya shared a video clip of Navjot Singh Sidhu on Twitter, writing: “Rahul Gandhi’s favorite Navjot Singh Sidhu calls Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan his “elder brother”. Huh. The last time he hugged the Chief of the Pakistani Army, General Bajwa, he was appreciative.

In the purported video, as Sidhu is being welcomed by Pakistan PM Imran Khan, the Punjab Congress chief can be heard saying: “My elder brother is…he has given me a lot of love. (He is my elder brother.. He has given me a lot of love)”.

As the matter gained attention, Punjab minister Pargat Singh hit back at the BJP, saying: “When PM Modi (goes to Pakistan) he is a ‘country lover’, when Sidhu goes, he is a ‘desh traitor’. are… I can’t call you brother.. We follow the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev”, reported ANI.

Notably, former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, who is likely to forge an alliance with the BJP in the upcoming state assembly election, had called Navjot Singh Sidhu a “threat to national security”.

Soon after his resignation as Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh had insisted that Sidhu “is a friend of (Pakistan Army Chief) Qamar Javed Bajwa and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan”.

“For the sake of my country, I will oppose his (Navjot Singh Sidhu) name for Punjab CM. It is a matter of national security. Pakistan PM Imran Khan is his friend. Sidhu has links with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu credited both PM Narendra Modi and Imran Khan for the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor: “With the efforts of PM Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan, it has become possible”. .

“I request that if you want to change the life of Punjab, we should open borders (for cross-border trade). Why should we go through Mundra port, total 2100 kms? Why not from here, where it is only 21 kms (for Pakistan),” he was quoted as saying by ANI.
