A video showing the collapse of a building in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district has taken the internet by storm.

A video of the incident tweeted by news agency ANI showed a four-storey building collapsing amid heavy rain at Choupal Bazar at around 12.30 pm.

The building housed a UCO Bank branch, a dhaba, a bar and a few other commercial establishments, but no casualties were reported as the building was vacated before the collapse.

Ramesh Dadhwal, chief manager of UCO Bank’s zonal branch in Shimla, said that since there was a holiday in the bank located on the top floor of the building, none of the seven employees were present at the time of the incident.

The report also claimed that some people sitting in the bar on the ground floor noticed sudden cracks in the window panes and immediately ran out of the building, therefore, alerting the bar and others in the dhaba about the possible danger. .
