look | After Manali, masked tourists gathered at Kempty Falls in Mussoorie, people scared of third wave

Mussoorie: Even a week ago, as #Manali was trending for tourists, netizens continue to troll tourists taking a bath at Kempty Falls in Mussoorie in a viral video.

Two of Uttarakhand’s most popular tourist destinations, Mussoorie and Nainital, thronged with tourists, once the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, in a situation similar to that of Himachal Pradesh. People rushed to the hills to escape the heat of the plains, leading to overcrowding of hotels and long lines of vehicles on the roads.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a video of hundreds of visitors taking a bath at Kempty Falls in Mussoorie appeared on the internet and quickly became popular on social media. As people gathered at popular tourist attractions, social distancing was definitely thrown out the window. Not a single person was wearing a mask.

Mohit Gulati (@Desi Mojito) posted the short clip on Twitter, while it has also been shared by several other pages.

When this video went viral, people created a lot of ruckus. People flouting Kovid-19 rules angered social media users. Here’s how he reacted:

Sharing the video, a user wrote, ‘Kempty Falls is not so empty in Mussoorie! What are your views on this? And then they are going to blame the doctors and the government. Good going people I would request all the doctors to keep this video with all of you and then when the time comes, show this video directly to them. They have no right to question you and the government now.”

At the same time, another sarcastically wrote, “Sorry to say this but we deserve a third wave.” One person replied, “Have they forgotten the months of April and May, the agony, the battle for breath, the struggle of life. Maybe they were the ones who never experienced such things, they were lucky somehow. But this is destructive.”

Kuldi Bazaar and Mall Road are notorious in Mussoorie. Nainital also faced a similar problem due to increase in the number of tourists.

Apart from Uttarakhand, more than five lakh visitors visited Himachal Pradesh after the lifting of Covid norms.
