Along with global warming, the effect of local warming is also being seen in Uttarakhand. Here popular trees used to grow at an altitude of 2500 to 3000 meters, but now these trees are being found at 4500 meters. Not only this, the areas which used to have only snowfall, now there is only rain.

Due to global warming, Himalayan glaciers have moved many kilometers back. This has happened over many years, but the effect of local warming is clearly visible in a very short time.

How was the effect of local warming known?
The Himalayan popular tree is found in Uttarakhand, whose scientific name is Populus ciliata. They grow in cold and humidity. Earlier, they used to get enough cold in 2500 meters, but now they are getting it at an altitude of 4500 meters.

Apart from this, the state bird Monal lives in extreme cold. Until 1951, it was found up to a height of 1100 meters. Now this bird is not coming below 2500 meters.

The rising heat has pushed several dozen species of butterflies and insects found on the mountains to higher altitudes.
