Little Over 200 Daily Covid Cases in 24 Hours, Active Infections Down to 4,434

India sees a one-day increase of 226 coronavirus Infections, while active cases declined to 4,434, according to data updated on Monday by the Union health ministry.

The case tally stood at 4.46 crore (4,46,73,618). Figures updated at 8 am said the death toll rose to 5,30,630 with two deaths reported in Kerala.

Active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.80 per cent, according to the health ministry’s website.

There was a reduction of 95 in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people recovering increased to 4,41,38,554, while the death rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the website of the ministry, 219.94 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

India’s COVID-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October. Crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

India crossed two crores on May 4, three crores on June 23 last year and four crores on January 25 this year.
