List of previous cabinet visits by Chief Minister and Surendran Top Foreign Visits | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: Seventeen ministers in the previous LDF cabinet visited 27 countries in official and private capacity from August 2016 to December 2019. According to the details presented in the assembly, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Kadakampally surendran Ranked first and second in terms of number of trips abroad.
Vijayan undertook 14 trips, including a private one United Arab Emirates And one for medical purposes for America. The remaining 12 were official visits to the United Arab Emirates, the US, Bahrain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, the UK, Japan and South Korea. Other ministers who have traveled abroad include AK Balan, KT Jaleel, TP Ramakrishnan, KK Selja, J Mercikutty, E Chandrasekaran, Matthew T Thomas, K Raju, AK Sashindran, G Sudhakaran, VS Sunilkumar, TM Thomas Isaacs, EP Jayarajan, Thomas Chandy and C Rabindranath. Thomas Chandy, of the 17 ministers to visit Rabindranathi, Mathew T Thomas and E Chandrasekaran made only one trip each, while G Sudhakaran and J Mercikutty made two trips.
There were ministers who made only private visits. All the six foreign visits made by the then Agriculture Minister Sunilkumar were private and he visited Italy, UAE, USA, Oman and Sri Lanka. Three visits by K Raju as Forest Minister of UAE and Germany and two visits by G Sudhakaran (then PWD Minister) to Qatar and UAE were private in nature. The only foreign visits to the US and UAE by the then General Education Minister C Rabindranath and the then Revenue Minister E Chandrasekaran were private.
Meanwhile, there were ministers who never traveled abroad. They are K Krishnankutty (then Minister of Water Resources), Kadanapalli Ramachandran (then Minister of Ports), P Thilothaman (then Minister of Food and Civil Supplies), AC Moideen (then LSGD Minister) and. mm money (then Minister of Power).
The UAE was the preferred destination as the ministers had visited the country 28 times. It was followed by the US (12) and the UK (9). Other countries visited by the ministers include Russia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Italy, Thailand, Vatican, Spain, Singapore, France, Spain, Ireland and Moldova.
