LinkedIn Crosses 100 Million Members In India, Its 2nd Largest Market

This year’s list of LinkedIn’s top 10 most in-demand skills in India includes Management (1st position), Communications (4th) and Sales (10th).

Professional networking platform LinkedIn on Wednesday said it has crossed the 100 million member mark in India, with its member base growing by 56 per cent in the last three years in the country.

India has consolidated its position as the second largest market for Microsoft-owned LinkedIn globally.

The company informed that the largest share of members in India is from software and IT, followed by manufacturing, corporate services (consulting, accounting and human resources), finance and education industries.

“Our 100 million member community in India is now using the platform for more than just jobs at scale. “They are ranking higher on networking, messaging and learning than any other sector globally,” said Ashutosh Gupta, India country manager, LinkedIn.

“As we look to welcome the next 100 million professionals, we aim to be a true partner in the lives of professionals as India continues to build a skills-first labor market,” he added.

As jobs and career paths become increasingly non-linear, companies in India are taking a skills-first approach to hiring, with over 50 percent of recruiters on LinkedIn clearly listing skills data to fill their roles Which is higher than the global average. 45 percent.

In 2022 alone, professionals in India will spend 4.6 million hours learning on the platform, which is almost twice the learning hours spent on LinkedIn in the US.
