Lilly Singh shared a comprehensive note on South Asian representation at Oscars 2023. He congratulated the winners and praised them for their hard work and achievement.

It was a big day for Indian cinema on Sunday night (Monday morning in India) at the 95th Academy Awards. The Elephant Whisperers, produced by Guneet Monga and directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, won the Best Documentary Short Film award, followed by RRR winning the Best Original Song Oscar for Naatu Naatu. Lilly Singh is among the many celebrities who cherish this big win by India. The YouTuber shared a comprehensive note on South Asian representation at Oscars 2023. He congratulated the winners and praised them for their hard work and achievement.

Lilly also expressed her views on breaking the glass ceiling by South Asians. He shared, “Make sure that this progress continues with a forward momentum. Hopefully next year, we can see even more South Asian representation on that stage in terms of presenters, nominees, winners and dancers (the Naatu Naatu performance was epic but I wish some bomb South Asian dancers got to be a part of it) get a chance).

Additionally, Netflix’s Tamil documentary, The Elephant Whispers, directed by Karthik Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga, became the first Indian production to win an Oscar.
