Light rain, thunderstorms likely to occur in Delhi NCR by evening: IMD

Delhi-NCR: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted, light rain and thundershower with gusty wind is likely in Delhi NCR till 7 pm.

Earlier today, amidst the scorching heat in the entire NCR region, the weather suddenly changed. It rained here with strong winds.

According to the sources of the Meteorological Department, the effect of cyclonic storm Biparjoy in Gujarat and Rajasthan is being seen in Delhi-NCR. The IMD also informed that it will be cloudy over North India including Uttar Pradesh. There will be relief from the heat.

Cyclone Biparjoy, which originated from Asar Sagar, started making landfall on the coastal places of Gujarat (Kutch, Dwarka etc.) late Thursday evening. After its landfall, the cyclone moved towards Rajasthan, due to which heavy rains have been seen there.

According to the Meteorological Department, now the cyclonic storm will turn towards Pakistan. It is estimated that its effect will be seen in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, rest of Rajasthan and Haryana.
