Life story of late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar likely to be taught in Karnataka

The Karnataka government is considering teaching the life story of late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar in schools to encourage philanthropic activities among children. Education Minister BC Nagesh has given a positive response to the demand of thousands of people and organizations in this regard. He assured that a decision will be taken in this regard after discussing with the government. Puneet won the National Award and became a superstar at a very young age. He also did a lot of social service and became a model for other celebrities.

Several philanthropic organizations and individuals have written to the Brihat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) education department urging the government to include a chapter on Puneet’s life in the textbooks of class IV or fifth students.

The actor was running 26 orphanages, 19 gaushalas, 16 old age homes and supported over 4,800 children from economically weaker sections.

Bengaluru South District BJP President NR Ramesh had also written to the Education Minister demanding that Puneet’s life history be included in the school curriculum.

The matter was brought to the notice of Nagesh by the BBMP officials, who has given a positive response.

Puneet passed away on October 29 last year after suffering a heart attack. He is survived by wife Ashwini Puneet Rajkumar and two daughters. His last film ‘James’ was released on March 17 which got a great opening at the box office.

The entire film fraternity and people across the country appreciated the late actor’s philanthropic activities which came to the fore only after his death.
