In the murder case of 14-year-old Jaskirat Singh Jassi in Punjab’s Kapurthala city in the year 2016, a sessions court has sentenced the three accused of murder to life imprisonment. The killer Palwinder Singh alias Shaili, his two accomplices Rajwinder Singh alias Raja and Arshdeep Singh will now be in jail till death. Palwinder Singh alias Shaili is the son of the deceased Jassi Ka Taaya. After the sentencing of the court, Jassi’s father Narendrajit Singh said with moist eyes that ‘his Jassi cannot come back]but the mind has definitely got relief from the punishment of the killers’.

Please tell that Jaskirat Singh Jassi, 14-year-old son of Narendrajit Singh, a resident of Rose Avenue in Kapurthala city, had gone to study tuition in the evening on April 11, 2016. But then didn’t come back. Meanwhile, a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was demanded to release Jassi by calling Jaskirat’s father. He also agreed to pay the ransom money for the well being of the son. But two days later, on April 13, near Tarn Taran, Jassi’s body was found lying on the side of the road in a bloodied condition. Later his Activa was found near Humira.

Clues of killers found from CCTV footage
A CCTV footage finally led the police investigating the blind murder to the killer. Jaskirat Singh Jassi’s father’s son Palwinder Singh aka Shaili, who was roaming everywhere showing sympathy to the family from day one, but the needle of police’s suspicion got stuck. When the police took him into custody and interrogated him strictly, then everything came to light.
Conspiracy hatched after seeing crime patrol
The police uncovered the incident after interrogating Palwinder Singh alias Shaili. In the murder of Jassi, two of his associates Rajwinder Singh alias Raja and Arshdeep Singh were also arrested by the police. During interrogation, all three told that after watching the Crime Patrol serial on TV, a plan to kill Jassi and to demand ransom was prepared. On the basis of the planning done after watching the serial, he had targeted Jassi.
Justice got after 6 years
The trial of the Jassi murder case, which shook Kapurthala, was going on in the sessions court. After 6 years, after hearing the arguments of both the sides and seeing the evidence, Palwinder Singh alias Shaili, Rajwinder Singh alias Raja and Arshdeep Singh were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. In the matter, Additional District Public Prosecutor Anil Boparai and Advocate Rajiv Puri told that the Hon’ble Sessions Judge has given justice to the victim’s family by giving life sentence to the three.
