new Delhi: Karnataka is gearing up to welcome late superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s swansong film “James” on Thursday.
There is a festive atmosphere in the state as Puneet’s die-hard fans from young children await the release of his last film, which coincides with his birthday.
Fans have decided to celebrate the release of ‘James’ and the birthday of late superstar Puneet in a grand manner. Fans of Rajvansh Sangh will distribute free food to the people from March 17 to 20.
He has also planned to shower flowers on the Samadhi at 9.30 in the morning from a helicopter. Fans have also organized blood donation, food distribution, eye donation camps across the state.
Puneeth and Shivarajkumar’s fans have come forward to install 30 big cutouts in the premises of Veeresh Theater in Bengaluru.
Most of the theaters are keeping the number 17 seat vacant in the first show as the late actor used to watch his films in that particular seat. Fans believe that Puneet’s soul will visit the theaters and watch the film.
Fans have also arranged coffee biscuits for the people who come to watch the show at 6 am at Veerabhadreshwar Theater in Bangalore. Fans who watch the show at 10 in the morning get dosa and in the show at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, the fans are distributing chicken biryani.
It is planned to distribute samosas at 4 pm and gobi manchurian will be served to the fans at 7 pm.
The film ‘James’ is set to hit 4,000 screens worldwide on March 17. The film has got a U/A certificate by the Censor Board.
The team of the film is planning for a pan-India release. The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam languages. The film will release in more than 400 theaters in Karnataka alone.
The motion picture, teaser and songs of Puneet’s last film ‘James’ have become an instant hit and crores of his fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the film.
Puneet died of a heart attack on October 29, 2021. He is survived by wife Ashwini Puneet Rajkumar and two daughters. Ashwini Puneet Rajkumar is currently involved in film production.
Puneet is playing the role of a manager in a security company. Puneet’s military outfit is being liked by everyone in the teaser. Puneet’s philanthropic activities that came to light after his death have given him a larger-than-life image and people across the country have developed a special feeling towards him.
Priya Anand is playing the lead role along with Puneet. South Indian actors Sarath Kumar, Srikant Aditya Menon, Comedian Sadhu Kokila, Anu Prabhakar are playing lead roles in the film.
The film is directed by Chetan Kumar and produced by Kishore Pathikonda. Puneeth’s elder brother Shivrajkumar has dubbed for his brother.
