Lata Mangeshkar’s health deteriorates, singer is on ventilator support

Veteran singer Lata Maneghkar’s health has deteriorated again a few days after she showed improvement, news agency ANI reported. She is still in the intensive care unit and will be under the supervision of doctors. Last week, doctors treating her told that the singer has been taken off the ventilator, but she is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The 92-year-old singer tested positive for coronavirus with mild symptoms and was admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai on January 8, where she is being treated by Dr Pratit Samdani and a team of doctors.

Speaking to ETimes, Associate Professor, Dr Pratat Samdani had said that the singer has become conscious. “Lata Mangeshkar is still in ICU. He is out of ventilator for more than three days and is presently conscious. However, immediate leave is not possible on the card. According to Samdani, Mangeshkar has shown signs of slight improvement.

Regarded as one of the greatest playback singers of Indian cinema, Mangeshkar began his career in 1942 at the age of 13 and sang over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages. In her career spanning seven decades, she has been the voice behind many memorable tracks like “Ajeeb Dastaan ​​Hai Yeh”, “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”, “Neela Asman So Gaya” and “Tere Liye”. ,
