Rajya Sabha was adjourned for an hour on Monday in honor of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Speaker M Venkaiah Naidu read out the condolence message in the House. After reading the condolence message, the proceedings were adjourned for an hour. The Lok Sabha will also be adjourned for an hour after Speaker Om Birla’s condolence message was read out.

Lata Mangeshkar died on Sunday in a hospital in Mumbai. She was 92 years old. Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached Shivaji Park to pay his last respects to Lata Mangeshkar. The central government has also declared national mourning on 6 and 7 February.

National mourning declared for two days
There will be two days of national mourning on the death of Lata ji. That is, the flag will remain half-masted across the country and there will be no program of any kind of celebration. The Maharashtra government has declared Monday a public holiday and three days of state mourning in honor of Lataji. The West Bengal government has declared a half-day holiday on Monday.

About five days ago, his health started improving. Oxygen was removed, but kept in the ICU. He breathed his last at 8.12 am on Sunday.

PM to answer debate on Motion of Thanks
The debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address is going on in both the Houses of Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the debate in Lok Sabha today and in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reply in the House on the attack on AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s convoy in Pilkhua area of ​​Hapur, UP. Budget session will run in two phases
